Following on from the Yearbook series which now covers between 1978 & 1986, Now Music rather randomly put out a compilation which was on overview of songs & hits from the first two years of the new millennium ( a very lively period as marked in energetic American teen punky rock (the beginnings of the emo era in 2001) and dance (lots of Ibiza Anthems) and very bright cheesy pop hits, the dominance of UK garage & US styled R&B in the charts), covering a lot of hits obviously that were already put out at the time on Nows 45 through 51, and of course on the rival Hits series, but the record companies behind the Now series and the Hits series have now merged and so some hits that were exclusive to “Hits” at the time can now appear on this under Now Music as well as a very small handful of songs that haven’t been released on any compilation up until this one, so if you have collected all the Now series and Hits series what can you actually add to your collection with this? Overall there are 83 songs over 4 CDs, divided into 2 CDs for 2000 & 2001 each.

 

It’s hard to tell whether there’s a few songs that have actually not appeared on any Now Music compilations or the rival Hits series before, there are a handful of songs that are new to Now Music on this compilation, must have either been on the Nows of the time (45-51) or the rival Hits series as well as The Best Dance Album In The World Ever series & The Brit Awards compilations.
