Jordan TV following the ISIS murder of a Jordanian pilot

 In reaction to the appalling murder of a Jordanian fighter pilot by the risible ISIS, the nation of Jordan is quite shall we say ticked off about it, King Abdullah II himself has said he will take part in anti ISIS air strikes over Syria personally. Jordan TV (available on Hot Bird 13 East & Badr 26 East) was quite interesting to follow after the incident.










After Jordan had said that it would massively increase its anti ISIS  air strikes campaign,, reels of military footage began appearing on the channel alongside the usual dramas, Quran'ic recital spots & news coverage, although impending war is not a matter of entertainment the footage was quite fascinating to watch as we saw James Bond-esque like antics of men in black suits climbing down the outside of buildings, planes taking off and doing manoeuvres that wouldn't be out of place in an air show and salutes from the pilots.

Rather randomly Now Yearbook '92 has just been announced. The series began with Now Yearbook 1983 back in Summer 2021 on 4 CDs containing just over 80 songs from the year (some of them huge hits and others more obscure choices from the year in chart music) and then fans were surprised that instead of being followed up with Yearbook 1984 it was followed up by Now Yearbook 1983 Extra which simply provided 3 more CDs of hits to complement the original 4 with about 60 more songs included, some of the choices becoming yet more obscure. It was then actually followed by Yearbook 1984 and Yearbook 1984 Extra but fans were once again surprised by the series then going backwards to release Now Yearbook 1982 instead of 1985, but 1985 & 1986 also eventually followed and the series also has so far now gone back as far as Yearbook 1978. Internet Radio & now also Mixcloud banning single artist shows - why the PRS/PPL doesn't make sense.

Why are the big copyright agencies for the record industry dead set against smaller broadcasters playing more than 2 or 3 songs by a single artist in a row or within an hour? and does this really achieve anything? (even looking at it from their point of view), I argue that it does not and look into the restriction here. Mixcloud which for years didn't seem to have this restriction at all has now hit uploaders with it as well. Want to play copyrighted songs over the interweb? you've got to ask these guys first, mmmkay!
