CBS Reality to be dropped from the Local TV simulcast in January 2023.

Local TV which includes Local TV in Liverpool, Birmingham & North Wales is to drop the simulcast of the CBS Reality channel which takes up most hours of the locally broadcast Freeview channel outside the local news bulletins.  The local news bulletins were after 2019 the only original programming left on the channel, in Liverpool it was formerly known simply as Liverpool TV and before that Made In Liverpool.

Now the right wing based and Rupert Murdoch backed Talk TV which launched earlier in 2022 is to take the hours formerly occupied by a simulcast of CBS Reality from January.  Controversially it means that Rupert Murdoch based programming will broadcast to Liverpool on a channel aimed at Liverpool, a city which has boycotted the Sun newspaper ever since its inaccurate and accusatory Hillsborough reporting in 1989..

Talk TV is essentially a TV channel built around the line-up of Talk Radio (which broadcasts on National DAB), it features some of the same presenters however there are now slots for Talk TV in its own right, when tests started for the channel earlier in 2022 it was essentially a video version of Talk Radio.

Local TV also closed on satellite on December 1, removing a way to watch all of the bulletins from the other Local TV stations across the country as they broadcast back to back on the single "Local TV" channel on satellite.

The Liverpool & other bulletins are 30 minutes which means they are simply repeated back to back on Local TV during the horus not taken up by Talk TV.

The owner of the Now Music channels is flipping what has normally been the Now 90s channel since 2019 over to "Now Rock" from December 27 after it rebrands back from its annual "Now Christmas".  It will no doubt leave some fans who want the 90s music back disappointed but will provide a lineup of you guessed it, classic rock leading up to more recent rock. Only Kerrang! with a guitar led format on the lineup of music video channels on satellite, it will leave MTV 90s as the remaining all 90s music channel on satellite, it is currently also flipped to MTV Xmas for the run up to Christmas, MTV channels are the only remaining music channels to need a Sky subscription. 

MTV 90s launched alongside MTV 80s earlier in 2022 replacing MTV Base & MTV Classic, it used to sit alongside Now 90s but has now become the only 90s music nostalgia channel on satellite. MTV 90s returns early in the new year after MTV Xmas spends the Betwixtmas & New Year period flipping from all christmas hits to party hits for the new yeart.
