Deal Or No Deal to relaunch on ITV

Image
Deal or No Deal to be revived on ITV later in 2023. The hit game show Deal Or No Deal looks set to make a return on itv1 according to this news article with game show host Stephen Mulhern, the hit show which was heavily based on probability and created a scenario in which participants could ultimately win anything from 1p to £250,000 was launched on Channel 4 back in 2005 and with a few format tweaks finally left the channel in 2014. It became Channel 4's biggest ever hit in daytime TV and effectively relaunched the career of its presenter Noel Edmonds who had been fading somewhat from the limelight in the Noughties as his biggest fame previously came from the Saturday night BBC One show "Noel's House Party" during the 90s and his success before that on BBC Radio 1.  Noel attributed the new success in 2005 due to his dabbling in something called Cosmic Ordering. Noel won't be on board for the reboot on ITV however stepping aside for Stephen Mulhern. Since the end ...

Royal Mail Strike - Chester (Nov 2022)

Image
30th November 2022 - Postal workers on Strike, Sealand Road near Chester. Most industries seemed to go on strike during 2022, wages are simply not keeping up with the so called cost of living crisis, but employment conditions and contracts have been getting worse too, the CWU (Communications Workers Union) is fighting to improve those as much as it is to raise wages, here about this in an interview I got at the picket line outside the Sealand Road distribution centre, which is on the outskirts of Chester & Blacon of course and almost a stone's throw from Chester City's Deva Stadium ground.  Interview here -  https://michaelfarrieinterviews.wordpress.com/2022/11/30/postal-workers-on-picket-line-in-chester/ The fire in a rotary bin seemed as if it might be hot enough to forge steel.

RC Nurses Strike - Clatterbridge Hospital, Wirral (107 News Interview) (Jan 2023)

Image
RCN Strike - 107 News Interview. On Wednesday & Thursday 19th January 2023 nurses were out on strike due to the progressively worser and worser conditions that they have to deal with. In addition to pay not keeping up with the crazy 2022 cost of living inflation, they often find themselves doing the jobs of several people and working up to a 14 hour shift in an underfunded and massively stressful NHS environment, along with this in the last decade nurses' bursaries were cut making it harder to get into the career in the first place. Here was the RCN strike at Clatterbridge Hospital last week, I also got an interview! Listen to an interview with a nurse about why it's come to going out on strike. https://michaelfarrieinterviews.wordpress.com/2023/01/20/interview-with-striking-nurse-on-the-picket-line-clatterbridge-hospital/ Pictures from the scene of the picket line at Clatterbridge Hospital, Wirral. Now Christmas - How Many Have There Been?

Image
Is this the complete list of "Now Christmas"? I wonder. It feels like there's been one every year, analysis reveals that there hasn't been not quite, here's some milestones for the various slight variations in songs on the "Now Christmas" compilations. Now The Christmas Compact Disc (1986), there was also Now The Christmas Album on Vinyl & Cassette in 1985. it included that Gary Glitter song and a Queen christmas song "Thank God It's Christmas" that's never been on a Now Christmas since. Not sure why this Queen christmas song isn't bigger and has only been on this one. Now! The Christmas Album (2000) There were hardly any spin offs under the Now That's What I Call Music brand, apart from a Years collection from 1983-1993 in the 10th Anniversary series, uinlike in the Best Album In The World Ever.. series which seemed to be the main themed big compilation series in the 90s. The Now spin offs began with "Now Love...

A1 Radio - Music for Mental Health Radio with UK Craigie

Image
As Facebook won't allow me to link to A1 Radio's site for some reason here it is. UK Craigie has begun a show on there called "Music for Mental Health Radio" and I am interviewed on the first show (Monday 2 January 2023 6-8pm). I explain how Channel 107/Cream fits into the alternative world known as the "Homelands" on the planet Finves. Now released on Mixcloud Also in the first edition there is some pretty dope hip-hop & rap, and he has already dropped one of his own UK Craigie songs which went into how hard it is in the UK right now with the so called "cost of living" crisis.
