RCN Strike - 107 News Interview.

On Wednesday & Thursday 19th January 2023 nurses were out on strike due to the progressively worser and worser conditions that they have to deal with. In addition to pay not keeping up with the crazy 2022 cost of living inflation, they often find themselves doing the jobs of several people and working up to a 14 hour shift in an underfunded and massively stressful NHS environment, along with this in the last decade nurses' bursaries were cut making it harder to get into the career in the first place.

Here was the RCN strike at Clatterbridge Hospital last week, I also got an interview!

Rather randomly Now Yearbook '92 has just been announced. The series began with Now Yearbook 1983 back in Summer 2021 on 4 CDs containing just over 80 songs from the year (some of them huge hits and others more obscure choices from the year in chart music) and then fans were surprised that instead of being followed up with Yearbook 1984 it was followed up by Now Yearbook 1983 Extra which simply provided 3 more CDs of hits to complement the original 4 with about 60 more songs included, some of the choices becoming yet more obscure. It was then actually followed by Yearbook 1984 and Yearbook 1984 Extra but fans were once again surprised by the series then going backwards to release Now Yearbook 1982 instead of 1985, but 1985 & 1986 also eventually followed and the series also has so far now gone back as far as Yearbook 1978. Internet Radio & now also Mixcloud banning single artist shows - why the PRS/PPL doesn't make sense.

Why are the big copyright agencies for the record industry dead set against smaller broadcasters playing more than 2 or 3 songs by a single artist in a row or within an hour? and does this really achieve anything? (even looking at it from their point of view), I argue that it does not and look into the restriction here. Mixcloud which for years didn't seem to have this restriction at all has now hit uploaders with it as well. Want to play copyrighted songs over the interweb? you've got to ask these guys first, mmmkay! Internet radio and copyrighted music has been a bit of a contentious issue for the 2 decades or so since it became a thing, at first back in the Noughties the rights organisations both sides of the Atlantic who gatekeep copyrighted pop music etc were almost trying to suppress the whole concept entirely, and then the licences they did come up for "webcasters" came with a whole bunch of restrictions, that seemed to suck the fun and joy out of it  And ther...

10 March Gary Lineker, this is most likely proof that the BBC has indeed been infiltrated by the Tories in some key positions given they are trying hard not to allow him to put out his own opinion.
